1. The website is informational

This website explains the DNA relationship tests we handle and how to enquire about them. The content is general information. It is not medical advice, not legal advice, and not a recommendation that a particular test is right for your situation.

Nothing on this site should be relied on in place of a conversation about your specific circumstances.

2. Enquiries

Sending an enquiry does not create a contract, book a test, or oblige either of us to proceed. It starts a conversation. Testing is arranged separately: before any sample is taken, each person being tested signs a consent form, and the documentation issued with it sets out the terms for that test.

We try to respond to enquiries promptly, but we do not guarantee a response within any particular time.

3. No guarantee that a test is appropriate

Whether a relationship test can answer your question depends on who is available to be tested and what is already known about the relationships involved. We will give you our honest view once we understand the situation, and we may tell you that no test we offer would give you a useful answer.

Results for some relationship tests — particularly sibling and avuncular testing — are expressed as a likelihood rather than a straightforward yes or no. We do not promise a particular outcome, level of certainty, or that a report will be accepted for any specific purpose.

4. Service availability

Services described on this site may change or become unavailable. We may add, withdraw or alter what we offer without notice. We aim to keep the site available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

5. Information you give us

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you give us about the people involved and the relationships in question. Advice we give is based on what you tell us; if that turns out to be inaccurate or incomplete, our guidance and any test arranged on the strength of it may not be appropriate.

You confirm that you are entitled to make an enquiry on behalf of anyone else you mention, and that you will obtain the consents required before any testing goes ahead.

6. Intellectual property

The text, layout, graphics and code on this website belong toRapid Root DNA or are used with permission. You may view and print pages for your own use. You may not republish, sell or systematically copy the content without written permission.

7. External links and embedded content

This site links to third-party services — WhatsApp, mapping and, in future, an enquiry form provider. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content, availability or practices. Their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them.

8. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this website or from reliance on the general information published on it. This clause concerns the website and the enquiry stage; anything relating to a test you book is governed by the documentation issued to you at booking. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
