Legal
Privacy Policy
How information you send us through this website, by phone or over WhatsApp is handled.

Pending legal review
This page was prepared for Rapid Root DNA and has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer. Because the business handles genetic samples, the final wording — and the steps required under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Rules — should be checked by a qualified adviser. Remove this notice once that review is done.
This policy explains how Rapid Root DNA ("we", "us") handles information collected through this website and through the contact channels listed on it. It applies to enquiries only. If you go on to arrange testing with us, you and every person being tested give written consent before any sample is taken. That consent form, and the documentation issued with it, govern how samples and results are handled — this policy covers the enquiry stage only.
A note on genetic information
Genetic information, and information about family relationships, is sensitive. We treat it that way.
This website does not collect genetic data. No DNA sample, test result or report is submitted through, stored on, or processed by this website. Enquiry channels are for arranging a conversation — please do not send test reports, identity documents or medical records through the enquiry form or over WhatsApp unless we have specifically asked you to.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Enquiry form. Whatever you enter in the enquiry form on this website — typically your name, phone number, email address and a description of your query. We ask for the minimum needed to reply to you.
- Phone and WhatsApp. Your phone number, and the content of messages or calls, when you contact us on +91 70421 35307.
- Email. Your email address and message content, if you write to us.
You control how much you tell us. A first enquiry does not require names of the people involved, documents, or any explanation of your circumstances.
Information collected automatically
Standard technical information may be recorded by our hosting provider when a page is served — for example the request time, the page requested, browser type and an IP address. This is used to keep the site running and secure.
Cookies and analytics. This website uses Google Tag Manager, a service provided by Google, to load analytics tools such as Google Analytics. These tools use cookies and similar technologies to tell us how the site is used — for example which pages are visited, how visitors arrived, the type of device and browser, and an approximate location. We use this only to understand and improve the site. It does not include anything you tell us in an enquiry. Google processes this information under its own privacy policy.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google'sGoogle Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The site keeps working if you do.
Third-party embeds — such as an enquiry form or a map — may set their own cookies when they load. Where such an embed is in use, its provider's own privacy policy also applies.
How we use enquiry information
- To respond to your enquiry and answer your questions.
- To work out which relationship test, if any, suits your situation.
- To arrange testing and communicate with you about it, if you decide to proceed.
- To keep a record of what was agreed with you.
- To meet any legal or regulatory obligation that applies to us.
We do not sell enquiry information. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not add you to a marketing list on the basis of an enquiry.
Sharing your information
Enquiry information may be shared with:
- Service providers who operate parts of this site or our communications. This website is hosted by Netlify, and messages you send us travel over the phone network or WhatsApp. If an enquiry form is added, the form provider will process what you submit on our instructions. Email you send us is handled by our email service provider. Each of these processes information on our instructions only.
- Partner laboratories, if and when you choose to proceed with a test. Testing is carried out by NABL-accredited and ISO-certified partner laboratories. We send them samples for analysis — not your personal details. Your name, phone number, email address and the circumstances of your enquiry stay with us. See below.
- Authorities, where we are required to disclose information by law or by a valid order.
We do not disclose the existence or content of an enquiry to family members or other third parties who contact us about it.
What the laboratory does and does not receive
Samples are sent for analysis under a reference we assign, not under your name. The laboratory analyses the sample and returns the result against that reference. It is not given your contact details, and it is not told why the test was requested or what you told us about your family.
Only we can connect a laboratory reference back to a person, and that link is kept confidential.
WhatsApp communication
If you contact us on WhatsApp, your message is delivered through WhatsApp's own infrastructure and is governed by WhatsApp's terms and privacy policy as well as this one. We keep the conversation on your device and ours; we cannot delete messages from your phone, and we have no control over backups you have enabled.
Please bear in mind that WhatsApp messages remain visible to anyone with access to your phone. If discretion matters, tell us and we will agree another way to reach you.
How long we keep information
We keep information only as long as it serves a purpose, and for any period the law requires:
- Enquiries that do not proceed to testing are deleted within 12 months of our last contact with you.
- Records relating to a completed test are kept as set out in the documentation issued to you at booking, and for as long as we are required to keep business records.
- Samples are handled and disposed of under the consent form you sign at booking, not under this policy.
You can ask us to delete an enquiry record sooner, and we will do so unless we are required to keep it.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, including limiting who can access enquiry records and using reputable service providers. No method of transmission over the internet or of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and how to contact us
You may ask us to:
- tell you what enquiry information we hold about you;
- correct information that is wrong;
- delete your enquiry record, where we are not required to keep it;
- stop contacting you.
Write to us at info@rapidrootdna.com or call +91 70421 35307. Because enquiries concern private family matters, we will ask you to confirm your identity before acting on a request — usually by verifying the phone number or email address the enquiry came from. We aim to respond within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information or your request, tell us at info@rapidrootdna.com and we will look into it.
Testing involving children
Enquiries frequently concern a child. Where a child is involved, we deal with the parent or guardian making the enquiry. Requirements for consent to test a minor are explained at the time of booking, not through this website.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the business, the website or the law changes. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
